NORWALK, Conn. – The big event in Norwalk this weekend is the annual SoNo Arts Celebration. Here’s what is happening this weekend:
Friday, Aug. 3
Family Concert: 10 a.m. The City Winds Trio will play nursery rhymes and lullabies, with games and movement activities for young kids. Norwalk Public Library, 1 Belden Ave.
SoNo Arts Celebration: 6 p.m. The SoNo Arts Celebration kicks off its weekend of events, which will feature live music on two stages, works of more than 150 artists, food and entertainment for kids. Admission is free. Washington Street, South Norwalk.
Saturday, Aug. 4
SoNo Arts Celebration: 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. The weekend celebration of local art continues in South Norwalk. Washington Street, South Norwalk.
Around the World Creative Kids: Malaysia: 2 p.m. Discover the fine art of Malaysian batik and make your own batik fabric piece to take home. Free with museum admission. Stepping Stones Museum for Children, 300 West Ave.
Norwalk Democratic Town Committee: 3 to 5 p.m. The Norwalk Democratic Town Committee hosts a roundtable discussion. South Norwalk Library Branch, 10 Washington St.
Sunday, Aug. 5
SoNo Arts Celebration: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The SoNo Arts Celebration concludes with a puppet parade at 1:30 p.m. as well as musical performances, the work of local artists, food and more. Washington Street, South Norwalk.
“Beyond Brushwork” Exhibition Reception: 4 p.m. Meet the artists during a reception for an exhibition of computer art, drawings, mixed media, pastels and prints. Awards will be given. Rowayton Arts Center, 145 Rowayton Ave.
