NORWALK, Conn. – Among the events in Norwalk this weekend are the launch of the Norwalk Arts Council, the annual St. Ann’s Club Italian Feast and performances by Shakespeare on the Sound.
Friday, July 27
Rowayton Farmers Market: Noon to 5 p.m. Enjoy fresh food from dozens of local vendors at this weekly farmers market. Pinkney Park, 1 Rowayton Ave.
Norwalk Arts Council Launch Party: 4 p.m. Come celebrate the launch of the Norwalk Arts Council with art, food, music and fun. Artists' Market, 163 Main St.
St. Ann Italian Feast: 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. This annual festival features Italian food, entertainment, games, music, rides for kids and raffles. Parking and admission are free. St. Ann’s Club, 16 Hendricks St.
Shakespeare on the Sound: 7:30 p.m. Shakespeare on the Sound presents an updated take on “Romeo and Juliet” in which a group of friends gather at a dinner party for an annual reading of the play, and over the course of the reading the story will take over. Admission is free. Pinkney Park, 1 Rowayton Ave.
Saturday, July 28
Lightfoot Summer Series: 8 a.m. Take part in a 9-mile race through Norwalk. Entry is $5. Race starts and finishes at Calf Pasture Beach.
St. Ann Italian Feast: 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. This annual festival features Italian food, entertainment, games, music, rides for kids and raffles. Parking and admission are free. St. Ann’s Club, 16 Hendricks St.
Songs of Summer: 4:30 p.m. Cool down with a free concert by the Jim Clark Trio. Norwalk Public Library, 1 Belden Ave.
Outdoor Movie: 5:30 p.m. Bring a picnic and enjoy activities for kids, a demonstration by Karate Universe and a screening of “Kung Fu Panda 2.” Free admission. Calf Pasture Beach.
Shakespeare on the Sound: 7:30 p.m. Shakespeare on the Sound presents another production of its unique take on "Romeo and Juliet." Admission is free. Pinkney Park, 1 Rowayton Ave.
