What's Happening In Norwalk This Week

NORWALK, Conn. – This week the Norwalk Greek Festival kicks off, there will be several concerts and kids can learn sports skills. Check out these events happening this week.

Monday, Aug. 20

Zumba for Children and Parents: 4:30 p.m. Kids and their parents can take part in a free Zumba dance class. Norwalk Public Library, 1 Belden Ave.

Water Pollution Control Authority: 5:30 p.m. The Water Pollution Control Authority will meet. Room 231, Norwalk City Hall, 125 East Ave.

“Casablanca” Screening: 6 p.m. Teens can enjoy a free screening of the classic film “Casablanca.” Norwalk Public Library, 1 Belden Ave.

Tuesday, Aug. 21

Board of Health: 8 a.m. The Board of Health will meet. Norwalk Health Department, 137 East Ave.

LEGO Club: 4 p.m. Kids ages seven to 12 can come build LEGO creations together. Norwalk Public Library, 1 Belden Ave.

Norwalk Housing Authority: 5:30 p.m. The Norwalk Housing Authority will hold a special meeting. Norwalk Housing Authority, 24 ½ Monroe St.

Ordinance Committee: 7 p.m. The Ordinance Committee of the Common Council will meet. Room 231, Norwalk City Hall, 125 East Ave.

Harbor Management Application Review Committee: 7:30 p.m. The Harbor Management Application Review Committee will meet. Room 220, Norwalk City Hall, 125 East Ave.

Board of Education: 7:45 p.m. The Board of Education will meet. Common Council Chambers, Norwalk City Hall, 125 East Ave.

Wednesday, Aug. 22

Health Department Farmers Market: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Enjoy fresh fruit, vegetables and other items from local farmers and vendors. Health Department parking lot, 137 East Ave.

Dinner Discussions Book Club for Kids and Parents: 6 p.m. Families can bring dinner to the library and discuss “A Tale Dark Grimm.” There will be free dessert, juice and coffee served. Norwalk Public Library, 1 Belden Ave.

“Singing in the Rain” Screening: 6 p.m. Teens can enjoy a screening of the classic musical “Singing in the Rain.” Norwalk Public Library, 1 Belden Ave.

Parking Authority: 6 p.m. The Parking Authority will meet. Maritime Parking Garage, 11 North Water St.

Summer Concert: 7 p.m. Gunsmoke will be performing western music at this free outdoor concert. Calf Pasture Beach.

Historical Commission: 7 p.m. The Historical Commission will meet. 41 N. Main St.

Harbor Management Commission: 7:30 p.m. The Harbor Management Commission will meet. Room 220, Norwalk City Hall, 125 East Ave.

Thursday, Aug. 23

Sports Skills Stations: 4 p.m. Kids can get active and learn sports skills in this program by the Norwalk Health Department. Norwalk Public Library, 1 Belden Ave.

Norwalk Greek Festival: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. This free festival features homemade Greek cuisine and pastries, a marketplace, dancing, live music, games, raffles and more. Continues through Sunday. St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 238 West Rocks Road.

SoNo Concert Series: 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Jump the Gunn will perform at this free outdoor concert. SoNo Park, 50 Washington St.

Board of Ethics: 6:45 p.m. The Board of Ethics will meet. Room 101, Norwalk City Hall, 125 East Ave.

Health, Welfare and Public Safety Committee: 7:30 p.m. The Health, Welfare and Public Safety Committee of the Common Council will meet. Room 231, Norwalk City Hall, 125 East Ave.

Friday, Aug. 24

Family Concert: 10:30 a.m. Bari Koral will be performing her original family rock music. Norwalk Public Library, 1 Belden Ave.

Rowayton Farmers Market: Noon to 5 p.m. Pick up fresh fruit, vegetables and other items from local farmers and vendors. Pinkney Park, 1 Rowayton Ave.

Norwalk Greek Festival: 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. The Greek Festival continues with Greek food, games, dancing, music, raffles and more. St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 238 West Rocks Road.
