Zumba for Children and Parents : 4:30 p.m. Kids ages 5 to 12 and their parents can dance along in this free Zumba class. Norwalk Public Library, 1 Belden Ave.

Tuesday, Aug. 14

First Taxing District : 4 p.m. The First Taxing District Board of Commissioners will meet. First Taxing District Office, 12 New Canaan Ave.

Norwalk Redevelopment Agency : 6 p.m. The Norwalk Redevelopment Agency will meet. Room A330, Norwalk City Hall, 125 East Ave.

Common Council : 8 p.m. The Common Council will meet. Common Council Chambers, Norwalk City Hall, 125 East Ave.

Wednesday, Aug. 15

Health Department Farmers Market : 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Enjoy fresh fruits, vegetables and other items from local farmers and vendors. Norwalk Health Department parking lot, 137 East Ave.

Folklore at 4 : 4 p.m. Kids can learn about folklore, fairy tales and fables as well as their cultural backgrounds. South Norwalk Library Branch, 10 Washington St.

Concert and Car Show : 6 p.m. The Coachmen Rod and Custom Club will host a car show featuring more than 100 classic cars. After that, enjoy some oldies with a performance by the Barons. Calf Pasture Beach.

Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs Committee : 7 p.m. The Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs Committee of the Common Council will meet. Room 231, Norwalk City Hall, 125 East Ave.

Thursday, Aug. 16

Norwalk Transit District : 9 a.m. The Norwalk Transit District Commissioners will meet. Norwalk Transit District, 275 Wilson Ave.

Short Film and Craft : 10 a.m. Kids ages 3 to 5 will watch a short film based on a picture book and create artwork. South Norwalk Library Branch, 10 Washington St.

Pizza and a Movie : 5:45 p.m. Kids can enjoy some pizza and watch "The Lorax." Cost is $1 per person. Norwalk Public Library, 1 Belden Ave.

Human Relations Commission : 6:30 p.m. The Human Relations Commission will meet. Room 231, Norwalk City Hall, 125 East Ave.

Open Chantey Sing : 6:30 p.m. Sing along or listen as Deirdre Murtha of the Johnson Girls and her husband Sean lead in a sing-along of nautical songs. Admission is $5 and refreshments will be served. Rowayton Arts Center, 145 Rowayton Ave.

Friday, Aug. 17

Mammography Screenings : 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Stamford Hospital Mobile Wellness Center will be on hand for mammograms. Insurance is accepted, and there is no cost for women who are uninsured and low income. Calf Pasture Beach.

Family Concert with Deirdre: 10 a.m. Young children can join Deirdre for songs, puppets and action rhymes. Norwalk Public Library, 1 Belden Ave.
