Teen Chess Tournament: 7 p.m. Teens can compete in this monthly chess tournament, which is both entertaining and education. The winner will receive a certificate and a prize. Norwalk Public Library, 1 Belden Ave.

Tuesday, Jan. 15

Training Your Child’s Brain: 7 p.m. Special educator Lori Coda and behavioral optometrist Randy Schulman will talk about how underlying vision or brainwave issues impact children’s learning and will teach parents about nontraditional therapy methods. Norwalk City Hall, 125 East Ave.

Wednesday, Jan. 16

Parent Zone: Fun with Math: 6 p.m. Parents can learn simple techniques to help their kids with numbers, estimation, and describing and comparing shapes. Free dinner and free child care for kids 3 and older. Stepping Stones Museum for Children, 303 West Ave.

Thursday, Jan. 17

Healthy Minds and Healthy Bodies Expo: 5 p.m. This expo will feature activities and information businesses and organizations from Norwalk that promote healthy living through education, fitness, nutrition and lifestyle. Stepping Stones Museum for Children, 303 West Ave.

Friday, Jan. 18

Fairfield Warde at Brien McMahon Basketball: 7 p.m. The Fairfield Warde boys basketball team will visit Brien McMahon for a game. Brien McMahon High School, 300 Highland Ave.
