Monday, Dec. 10

International Human Rights Day : 11 a.m. Mayor Richard Moccia, the Human Relations Commission and the Peace Project of Brien McMahon High School will reaffirm the city’s commitment to human rights at this annual celebration. Norwalk City Hall, 125 East Ave.

Menorah Lighting Ceremony : 5 p.m. Stew Leonard’s hosts its 20th annual menorah lighting ceremony to celebrate Hanukkah. Rabbi Yehoshua Hecht of Beth Israel of Westport/Norwalk will light an 18-foot menorah. There will be holiday songs and dancing as well as Kosher refreshments. Dreidels and chocolate will be distributed to all. Stew Leonard’s, 100 Westport Ave.

Tuesday, Dec. 11

Maplewood at Strawberry Hill Grand Opening : 4:30 p.m. The senior living community Maplewood at Strawberry Hill will host a grand opening and reception. Maplewood at Strawberry Hill, 73 Strawberry Hill Ave.

AIDS and Its Impact on Our Community : 7 p.m. Gary Blick, medical director of the Circle Care Center, will discuss the impact of AIDS on the community. South Norwalk Library Branch, 10 Washington St.

Wednesday, Dec. 12

Holiday Craft Sale : 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Handmade holiday items such as quilts, scarves, placemats, stockings, ornaments and stuffed animals will be on sale. All items are made by volunteers, with proceeds benefiting patient care. Norwalk Hospital, 34 Maple St.

The Frog Prince and Other Tales : 11 a.m. Four fairy tales come to life with handcrafted puppetry and scenery in this holiday performance for the whole family. Stepping Stones Museum for Children, 303 West Ave.

Evolution of Christmas : 11 a.m. Kathy Maher, executive director of the Barnum Museum, will explain how Christmas became woven into American tradition based on an evolution of tales and traditions during the Victorian era. Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum, 295 West Ave.

Thursday, Dec. 13

Fox Run Book and Holiday Gift Fair : 5 p.m. Get your holiday shopping done at this fair, which will feature toys, clothing, jewelry, food, accessories and hundreds of books. Fox Run Elementary School, 228 Fillow St.
