What To Do In Norwalk This Week

Monday, Aug. 12

Mostly Mother Goose Story Time: 10 a.m. This ongoing weekly storytime is designed for children ages 24 to 35 months. It includes Mother Goose rhymes with some classic and modern tales and songs. Props are used to help children visualize the rhymes. South Norwalk Branch Library,10 Washington St.

High School Field Hockey "Tune Up" Camp: 5 to 8 p.m. A field hockey camp for high school girls covers the fundamentals of the sport as well as a conditioning component. Cost is $295 for members, and $325 for nonmembers. Sono Field House, 365 Dr. Martin Luther King Drive.

Tuesday, Aug. 13

"Industrial Evolution" Exhibit: 9 a.m. The exhibit features selected artwork depicting inspirational urban and technological elements of evolution over the past 150 years, weaving images from an age of emerging invention and development with the modern day. Among the exhibiting artists are Hu Lindsay of Norwalk, Ruth Kalla Ungerer of Ridgefield, Ingrid Conklin of Fairfield, and Steve Pomerantz of Ridgefield. Free. Maritime Garage Gallery, 11 N. Wednesday, Aug. 14

Bouncy, Bouncy Babies: 10 to 10:30 a.m. This ongoing weekly Story Time includes stories, music and activities to get babies bouncing to books. This is a drop-in-program. Free. South Norwalk Branch Library, 10 Washington St.

Folklore: 4 p.m. Folklore, fairy tales and fables will be shared by in a PowerPoint presentation in this Book Club. Children ages 5 to 11 learn that some books with the same title have different cultural backgrounds and read fractured fairytales, such as “The Three Little Wolves and the Big, Bad Pig.” Free. Thursday, Aug. 15

Mini Musicians: 11 a.m. The weekly sessions include singing, dancing, musical stories and jamming with musical instruments. For children ages 3 to 5. They will learn basic musical concepts like rhythm, pitch and tempo while participating in fun, hands-on games and activities. Free. South Norwalk Branch Library, 10 Washington St.
