Friday, June 7 51st Annual CCNS Art Show: 6 to 10 p.m. The Community Cooperative Nursery School in Rowayton is hosting its 51st Annual Art Show. The little red schoolhouse is once again transforming into a high-caliber art gallery, featuring a range of works by more than 100 artists. The event began Thursday evening and runs through Sunday. Forty percent of all art proceeds will be donated to the school and are tax-deductible. Cost is $10. For more information, visit www.ccnsartshow.org . Saturday, June 8 Writing the Memoir Cookbook with Rita Papazian: 10 a.m. This workshop combines the best of two worlds – memoir and cookbook. As a memoir cookbook writer, you can measure the amounts of your own ingredients: you can either plan out equal parts memoir and recipes; write short memoirs with a large dose of recipes; or assemble a short cookbook accompanied by varied short memoirs. Participants should bring a notebook, pen, a recipe and two photos that center around food and family members. Cost is $95. Westport Writers’ Workshop, 3 Sylvan Road South, Westport.

Sunday, June 9 Roots, Rock & Run Festival: 10 a.m. The third annual Roots, Rock & Run Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Rory’s Restaurant in Darien. Festivities will start with a 5K run co-sponsored by Runner’s Roost. T-shirts will be given to the first 150 registrants and the early registration fee is $20. The race will be followed by an outdoor festival with live music of all genres with local bands Dr. B and the Brotherhood, Ken Atkins & the Honky Tonk Kind, and more. There is no admission for the post party but it is a fundraiser for “Click it for Cassie” and Norwalk’s Open Door Shelter, and a donation is suggested.
