Here is a selection of special events:

One-on-One with a writing coach Tuesdays, Nov. 11, 18 and 25, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. The library is offering one-on-one 25-minute coaching sessions with a trained journalist for middle and high schools students ages 10 to 18 who need help with writing assignments. This program is free and open to Norwalk students. Registration is required. Body Language Sundays, Nov. 16 and 23, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. The library presents "Body Language" for children ages 10 to 18, who want to learn how to dance hip-hop. Walter Armstead, a Norwalk resident and native New Yorker, will lead students on an exciting six-week journey as they learn choreographed dances to popular music. This program is free and open to Norwalk teens and tweens. Registration is required. The Little Red Hen is Baking Bread Wednesday, Nov. 12, from 4 to 5 p.m. Ages 5 to 11 The Folklore @4:00 program will have a special treat with The Little Red Hen is Baking Bread. This event is free and open to the public. In this interactive storytelling session, children will find out who helps the little red hen bake bread and who gets to share it. Children will also get to sample bread from the SoNo Baking Company. Registration is required. Musical Story Time for Children Thursdays, Nov. 20 and Dec. 18; from 11 a.m. to noon Musical Story Time for Children classes seek to develop a child’s musical ability. It also builds on the child’s natural delight in learning and lays the foundation for future learning and development of the whole child. This is accomplished through songs, creative movement, stories, familiar nursery rhymes, percussion instruments and lots of joy. The program will accept up to 25 participants ages 3 to 5. This event is free and open to the public. Registration is required. BINGO Tuesday, Nov. 18, from 4 to 5 p.m. Children ages 5 and up are invited to play bingo and book bingo, which includes characters such as Curious George, Thomas the Tank Engine, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Percy Jackson and more. Winners will receive prizes. This event is free and open to the public. Young children must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required.

Read To Reel Program

Saturday, Nov. 22; from noon to 3:30 p.m.

Each month will feature a different book and its movie counterpart. The next Read To Reel title is “The Perks of Being a Wallflower.” Participation in both parts of the program is encouraged, but not required. Participants can also choose to only discuss the book or to only view the film. Registration is required. This program is free and open to the public. Multiple copies of the book are available at the library.
