NORWALK, Conn. -- A Milford-based nonprofit theater company is launching its "New Play Reading" series in Norwalk.
The readings are set for 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, and 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at the Talent Education Suzuki School at 112 Main St. in Norwalk. Slant of Light Productions will host the first of the monthly script-in-hands readings that will showcase Stratford playwright Rachel Teagle’s “Pain in the Neck,” a comedy about a relationship between two women complicated by the arrival of an intriguing, vampiric stranger.
The monthly series highlights works of local writers that have not yet been produced or published. The readings are open to the public in an effort to create a bridge between the community and artistic process.
“Part of Slant of Light’s mission is to produce artistic work that inspires communication in a safe atmosphere,” said Stacy Ruttenberg, Slant of Light’s executive director. “These readings give the community the opportunity to experience the plays before they’ve reached any other audience.”
General admission is $10 and all teens with a student ID will be admitted for free. For more information about the series, visit the Slant of Light Productions website or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
