The ball, which has a Kentucky Derby theme, is scheduled for May 4 at the Wee Burn Beach Club in Rowayton, and proceeds will go to Person-to-Person’s Emergency Assistance Program. In addition to providing clothing, the assistance program helps low-income families and individuals in Norwalk and other area communities with groceries, financial assistance and utility bills.
“Once again, we are blown away by the support our community has shown to the cause,” said Sarah Konecke, co-president of Opus for Person-to-Person, in a statement. “The long list of esteemed sponsors speaks volumes about the important work that Person-to-Person does on a daily basis. Our sponsors’ and members’ generosity is critical to enabling P-to-P to assist more than 23,000 individuals in need from neighboring communities on an annual basis.”
