NORWALK, Conn. – The South Norwalk Branch Library is hosting a series of Reading for Meaning and Read With Me interactive workshops with Shefali Patel.

The series starts with session 1 of Reading for Meaning on Thursday from 6-8 p.m.

In the first session, participants will learn the skills to develop readers who have the ability to understand all texts and use information for problem raising and solving. A light dinner will be served.

Reading for Meaning Session 2: Thursday, Oct. 15 from 6-8 p.m.

In the second session, participants will learn how to use text-dependent questions and topics in fiction to stimulate a reader's critical thinking. A light dinner will be served. 

Read With Me Session 1: Thursday, Oct. 22 from 6-8 p.m.

In this first session, participants will learn a number of strategies for reading with children from birth through preschool. A light dinner will be served. 

Read With Me Session 2: Thursday, Oct. 29 from 6-8 p.m.

The final session of Read With Me will detail various strategies on how to approach wordless books and reader's theater with children. A light dinner will be served.

All sessions are free and open to the public. Registration is required and is available online at the library's website here, or by calling 203-899.2790 ext. 15902.
