NORWALK, CONN. -- Reading will be more than fundamental, it will be fun, at a family literacy event Thursday at the Stepping Stones Museum for Children in Norwalk.

The free event is from 5-8 p.m. at the museum in Mathews Park, 303 West Ave.

There will be food, activities and crafts relating to the subject of innovation, organizers said. Children will be able to choose a Reading Is Fundamental book and tote bag to take home with them.

The event is sponsored by the Pitney Bowes Foundation with the support of its employee volunteers, organizers said.

Calling the museum “an amazing resource for our community” Kathleen Ryan Mufson, Pitney Bowes director of corporate citizenship, said it provides “dynamic and innovative learning opportunities for children.”

Pitney Bowes, a global technology company, takes pride in its employee volunteer program who “dedicate their time and expertise to support literacy and education here in our home base of Connecticut and in communities around the world,” Mufson added.

Reading Is Fundamental is the largest children’s nonprofit organization in the United States. To learn more about it, click here .
