Pick This Kicking Daisies Concert

Excitement over the dynamic young musicians of Kicking Daisies, Duran Visek, lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Caitlin Kalafus, drums and vocals, Ben Spremulli, lead guitar, Carly Kalafus, bass guitar, keyboards and vocals, is popping up all over the place. Besides their blossoming 'tween set fans, music lovers of all ages -- and critics --  have fallen under the spell of this pop foursome, who range in age from 14-17.  "Kicking Daisies possesses enough pop-rock energy to propel itself at the world with some serious momentum. They capture teen idealism and exploration with optimism and upbeat energy," reports website

The entertainment world is also taking notice. Recently, Kicking Daisies shot a TV pilot for Disney. They're also one of five artists selected for Disney’s "Next Big Thing" Program . And, in addition to pumping out their intensely engaging music, they also want to inspire other kids who love music, to take the plunge. Recently, Duran talked to PBS Kids's "It's My Life" Blog about what he's discovered since joining the band. "I think what it takes is motivation, commitment, and responsibility. Plus having someone who's going to drive you to rehearsal...that's always a big thing. Just practice. A lot of practice. You have to have the motivation to do it," he said.

See what all the fuss is about when teen sensation Kicking Daisies performs at 7:30 p.m. on Decermber 3 at Fairfield Theatre Company . Tickets are $10-$150. Their show is a benefit concert to support the non-profit Fairfield Arts Council, which hopes to develop a teen music center in downtown Fairfield.
