Photo Contest Kicks Off Norwalk's SoNo Eats Event

NORWALK, Conn. -- SoNo Eats, formerly SoNo Restaurant Week, is a six-day promotion that features the unique and fine-dining options available in South Norwalk and is kicking off the event with a photo contest.

The SoNo Eats social media contest encourages diners to take photos of their experience and post them on Instagram using the #SONOEATS hashtag for a chance to win over $500 in gift cards to select SoNo restaurants, a five-day pass to Saraswati Yoga Joint and the grand prize, a one-night stay at Hotel Zero Degrees in Norwalk.

Diners who snap a photo of their SoNo Eats — whether it’s a picture of what’s on their plate, what they’re drinking, whom they’re eating with or where they’re eating — and post the photo on Instagram with #SONOEATS are automatically entered into the contest. One winner will be selected each day during SoNo Eats and all entries must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. Winners will be announced the following day.

“We are excited to launch this new photo contest on Instagram to further engage guests during SoNo Eats,” says Ria Rueda, SoNo Eats director.

“The new social media vehicle will encourage foodies to share their dining experiences with friends, family and the Instagram community and ultimately inspire others to take part in this event. We hope they will share their experiences as our restaurant community demonstrates the quality, variety and hospitality that makes SoNo a go-to restaurant destination in Fairfield County.”

SoNo Eats is the perfect time to visit a favorite restaurant or try some place new. Participating restaurants will offer diners prix-fixe menus at low prices from May 31 through June 5. Chefs will prepare lunch menus at $10.99 and $15.99 and dinner menus will be offered at $19.99 and $29.99. All costs are exclusive of beverages, tax and gratuity.

Participating restaurants include Barcelona Wine Bar & Restaurant; Burger Bar; Estia’s; Ginger Man; Harlan Publick; Local Kitchen & Beer Bar; Mama’s Boy; Match; O’Neill’s Irish Pub; Oishi Sushi & Izakaya; Quartina Trattoria & Vineria; Strada18; and The Spread. Sponsors include Acqua Panna, Bulleit Bourbon, Casa Noble Tequila, Chopin, Perrier and Tanqueray.
