Pointing to influential women such as Oprah Winfrey, Sheryl Sandberg and Arianna Huffington, and the lessons they impart, Morris will help individual participants find their most influential self.

On Saturday, March 28, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., the branch will hold a screening of fine art photographer and independent filmmaker Lydia Douglas’ documentary “Nappy,” which tells the story of women and girls who decided to stop straightening their hair and “go natural.”

The series continues with a poetry slam for National Poetry Month in April.

May will mark the 70th anniversary of Victory in Europe (V-E) Day at the end of World War II. Mark Albertson, who teaches history at Norwalk Community College, will speak on the differences in Americans at war in 1945 and in 2015. Eric Gribbin, Norwalk Community College director of building efficiency and sustainable energy will complete the series in June.
