NORWALK, Conn. -- A fundraiser screening of “The Godfather” will take place on Saturday, March 19 in the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk.
The film will play at 7 p.m. Tickets are $30, with proceeds going to the aquarium and to the Italian-American Police Society of Southern Connecticut.
“The Italian-American Police Society is wonderful for the City of Norwalk, and its members are good supporters of my deli, so we’re excited about this fun way to give something back to them,” said Breno Donatti, owner of Winfield Street Italian Deli, organizer of the event.
Winner of three Academy Awards, including best picture, “The Godfather” is ranked as the No. 2 movie of all time by both the American Film Institute and by users of the Internet Film Database.
The screening at the Maritime Aquarium will come just a few days after the 44th anniversary of the world premiere of “The Godfather."
Tickets, which include a 6 p.m. reception with signature 3-foot Italian combo sandwiches from Winfield Street Italian Deli, can be purchased in advance at the aquarium website or by calling (203) 852-0700, ext. 2206. They’re also available at Winfield Street Italian Deli located at 69 Winfield St. in Norwalk.
