Sign up for either Wednesdays, April 1-29 from 2-2:45 p.m. or Thursdays, April 2-30 from 9:30-10:15 a.m. The series encourages pre-schoolers’ natural curiosity while also providing opportunities for parent-child fun.

With a “Mommy-and-Me”-style structure, the “Seal Pups” series has parents (or caregivers) participating together with their children in age-appropriate activities, up-close meetings with live animals and storybooks that relate to the week’s topics.

“Every day, we see pre-schoolers visiting The Maritime Aquarium with a parent or with their families who are absolutely engaged with the animals and exhibits,” said Tom Naiman, the aquarium’s director of education. “The ‘Seal Pups’ series affords a chance to encourage that curiosity in 3- and 4-year-olds in ways beyond what’s possible during a casual recreational visit. And having parents or caregivers participate with the child means everyone will be comfortable and able to enjoy some memorable shared fun.”

Aquarium educators also will give parents and caregivers tips on how to foster scientific inquiry in their young children.

The cost of the five-part series is $150 for one child and parent/caregiver or $135 for aquarium members. Each additional child with same parent/caregiver is $100 or $90 for members. Maximum of four children per caregiver.

Aquarium admission is included for all registered program participants.
