Santa Claus opens the event at 12:15 p.m., spending a full hour at the mansion greeting children and hearing their Christmas wishes.
Story Time at the Mansion runs from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. with Vicki Oatis, director of Children’s Library Services at the Norwalk Public Library. She will read books about the holidays, including "Olivia Helps with Christmas" by former Rowayton resident Ian Falconer.
At 2:30 p.m., vocalists from the Matthew Surapine Studio will sing seasonal music and selections from the great American Songbook.
Finally, the Doll and Teddy Bear Victorian Tea Party, begins at 3:15 p.m.
Children are encouraged to dress up for the party, bring a favorite bear, doll or toy, and practice good etiquette, as the mansion continues its tradition of High Tea during the holiday season. A tea party bingo will end this playful event with lots of prizes.
General admission tickets to the Holiday Open House are $5. Tickets to the Victorian Tea are $10. Advance ticket reservation and purchase is required. Call 203-838-9799 for more information.
