NORWALK, Conn. — Local Scouting units have planned a day of fun and adventure from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at Taylor Farm, Canfield Road, Norwalk, to show families with children what Scouting is all about.
Activities include air rockets, a rope bridge, a gaga pit, climbing station, catapults, Frisbee, rain gutter regatta, slingshots, Pinewood Derby, broomstick hockey, Maritime Aquarium touch tank and stations for first aid, Leave No Trace and STEM.
Norwalk Cub Scout packs and Boy Scout troops will be there to answer questions about their programs and to sign up boys who are interested in joining the Scouts, according to a press release.
The Girl Scouts also will be there with information on what they offer and how to join, according to a press release.
The event is rain or shine and will be canceled only if there are thunderstorms or other extreme weather.
