The steamroller will serve as a printing press as it rolls over carved boards to produce large-scale relief prints. Other activities and events include printing with carved vegetables and fruits, traditional printmaking, demonstrations of ink application, wiping and printing and more.
Works from the following artists were selected for this event: Helen Cantrell, Lyell Castonguay, Daniel Chiaccio, Katherine Dufault, William Evertson, Roxanne Faber Savage, Sally Frank, Nina Jordan, Cara Lynch and Nomi Silverman. Each artist carved a work into a large block of plywood or medium-density fiberboard donated by Ring's End Lumber.
The festival runs in conjunction with Stepping Stones Museum for Children's Worldwide Day of Play in Matthews Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
