Norwalk Police Hold Spanish-Language Boating Safety Course

NORWALK, Conn. -- The Norwalk Department of Police Service Marine Unit has collaborated with the Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 72 to sponsor a one-day Spanish language boating and personal watercraft certification course.

Learn from the experts, have fun, and satisfy the educational requirements for the combined Safe Boating Certificate and Certificate of Personal Watercraft Operation required to operate vessels on Connecticut waters. Taught by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Navegando America is a comprehensive one-day, NASBLA-approved boating safety course, presented in Spanish. 

The class is scheduled for Saturday, March 14 at the Flotilla 72 Training Center on Calf Pasture Beach in East Norwalk. It covers all major aspects of safe boating, including choices of boats, safety equipment, boat handling, radio communications, personal watercraft operation, Connecticut boating regulations, and much more. Sign-in begins at 7:30 a.m. and lessons presented from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. There are still seats available, contact Flotilla72PE@gmail.com.
