NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk Mayor Harry Rilling will be hosting a conversation with community members along with Consumer Protection Commissioner Jonathan A. Harris on how to avoid fraud or scams.
The discussion will be on Saturday, May 14 at 10 a.m. in the Community Room at Norwalk City Hall.
Scammers and fraudsters are changing how they prey on consumers more quickly every day. The commissioner will talk about how people can protect themselves from scams, and what to do if they fall victim to one.
On hand will be representatives of Direct Energy Solar to encourage all Norwalk property owners to consider solar. Also, New England Smart Energy Group will be there to offer free LED light bulbs to the first 100 participants.
Harris will also be there to answer questions about what consumers have gone through in any area that his office oversees.
Norwalk City Hall is at 125 East Ave.
