This year marks the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the 75th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. To commemorate those events, the Norwalk Public Library will participate in Be the Difference – Never Again initiative, created by Elizabeth Bettina Nicolosi. The goal is to learn about those who risked their lives to save others and to inspire people to take action.

The library will continue the series of documentary, movie screenings and book readings with discussions that follow with the presentation of "This Old House: The Veteran's Special House Project."

This screening covers the conclusion of the 35th anniversary season of "This Old House TV," as the crew partners with Homes for Our Troops (HFOT) to build and outfit a house in Hopkinton, N.H., for a wounded Iraq War veteran.

A nonprofit organization, HFOT is dedicated to building specially adapted, mortgage-free houses for severely injured veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Since 2004, the organization has built 168 houses for veterans and their families. A discussion and information about HFOT and the requirements to qualify for the Specially Adapted Housing Grant from the Veterans Administration will be provided.

The Norwalk Library is at 1 Belden Ave., Norwalk.
