NORWALK, Conn. -- Residents will have a chance to learn about saving energy costs when the Mayor’s Energy & Environment Task Force host an Energy Savings Workshop on Saturday, June 4 in the Community Room of Norwalk City Hall.

All Norwalk property owners are invited to attend the workshop, which runs from 10 a.m. to noon. As an added bonus, the first 200 Norwalk residents through the door will receive five free LED light bulbs.

Representatives from Direct Energy Solar, New England Smart Energy and Santa Energy will be on hand to provide residents information on the Norwalk Solar & Energy Challenges.

“I encourage all Norwalk residents to attend Saturday’s workshop to learn how to reduce their energy costs," said Mayor Harry Rilling.

As a follow-up to Saturday's event, the task force also invites Norwalk property owners to join them at Harlan Publick, 127 Washington St. on Wednesday, June 15, from 5 to 7 p.m. for a Solar Happy Hour with complimentary appetizers and door prizes.

“We want to inform the public about the programs and rebates that are available to them and also be there to answer any questions," said Task Force Chairman and Councilman John Kydes.
