Norwalk Hosts Citywide Children's Book Drive To Promote Literacy

NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk Reads, the Norwalk Early Childhood Council and United Way of Coastal Fairfield County are sponsoring a citywide Bring a Book Drive promoting literacy among local children during May.

Residents are asked to bring new or gently used children’s books to any of the following locations:

  • Hotel Zero Degrees, 353 Main Ave.
  • Hilton Garden Inn, 560 Main Ave.
  • Courtyard by Marroitt, 474 Main Ave.
  • Double Tree By Hilton, 789 Connecticut Ave.
  • Norwalk Inn, 99 East Ave.
  • Even Hotel, 426 Main Ave.
  • Norwalk City Hall 125 East Ave.
  • Norwalk Police Station, 1 Monroe St.
  • Norwalk Fire Stations 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
  • Oak Hills Park, 165 Fillow St.
  • Norwalk Public Library, 1 Belden Ave.
  • SoNo Branceh Library, 10 Washington St.
  • East Norwalk Library, 51 Van Zant St.
  • Rowayton Library, 33 Highland Ave. 
  • Greater Norwalk Chamber of Commerce, 101 East Ave.

Donated books will be distributed through various programs throughout the city as part of an ongoing campaign to foster literacy.
