NORWALK, Conn. -- The Norwalk Historical Society will host a Civil War re-enactment encampment and barbecue at Mill Hill Historic Park on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Entrants can learn about about life as a Civil War soldier from the re-enactors from the 11th Regiment Connecticut Volunteer Infantry, Company A . The regiment will also give musket firing demonstrations.
A replica cannon from the 5 Mile River Light Artillery led by Lt. Haphazard will also be on display. The Spirit of Black Rock Fife & Drum Corps will play songs and tell stories about music from the Civil War era.
In addition to the historical fare, several modern vendors will be present selling food, including American Steak House, New York Bakery, Oak Hills Restaurant on the Green, Overton’s, Simply Delicious Catering, and Tasty Pie Pizza.
General admission tickets (12 years and older) cost $13. Children ages 4 to 11 cost $9. Kids ages 3 and under are free.
