NORWALK, Conn. -- The Norwalk mayor’s Energy and Environment Task Force will host a forum on “Saving Green By Going Green: Home Energy Savings in Norwalk,” on Tuesday, April 29, at City Hall from 7 to 9 p.m.

Energy specialists Next Step Living and New England Smart Energy will discuss the popular residential program Home Energy Solutions, designed to help people save money on their energy bills.

Residents can also sign up to have Connecticut Light & Power come to their home and provide energy improvement services, which include locating and professionally sealing critical air leaks, replacing incandescent lights with energy-saving bulbs and insulating hot water pipes.

While these services are valued at an average of $1,000, the cost for the HES service is only $75 for homes heating with electricity or natural gas and $99 for homes heating with fuel oil and propane.

People who attend will also have the opportunity to learn more about converting to natural gas, or installing solar panels to generate electricity or hot water, and receive information on the available incentives, rebates and financing programs offered through Energize Connecticut and the Clean Energy Finance and Investment Authority.

Norwalk City Hall is located at 125 East Ave.
