Norwalk American Legion Hosts National Commander's Visit

NORWALK, Conn. – The national commander of the American Legion will visit Norwalk’s Frank C. Godfrey Post 12 on Tuesday.

National Cmdr. Michael D. Helm of Norcatur, Kan., will speak at the Norwalk post’s annual high school scholarship awards ceremony, according to a press release.

Helm, in charge of the largest military veterans organization in the United States since August 2014, will also visit other groups and businesses during his five-day visit to Connecticut.

The high school scholarship awards ceremony will be 6 p.m. at 60 County St., Norwalk.

A brief meeting for post and auxiliary members will take place after the ceremony.
