NORWALK, Conn. -- The Music Theatre of Connecticut MainStage in Norwalk is presenting "Evita" from Oct. 16 to Nov. 1.

"Evita" tells the story of the rags-to-riches rise of Eva Duarte Peron, from fatherless child to ambitious actress to the most powerful woman in Latin America—and, eventually, to a saint-like figure.

Showtimes are Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 4 and 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.

Lyrics are by Tim Rice, music is by Andrew Lloyd Webber.

MTC MainStage is at 509 Westport Ave. (behind the Jones New York and Nine West Outlet).

Tickets cost $35 to $55.
