Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Hosts Holiday Open House

NORWALK, Conn. – The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum will open its doors to present two holiday-themed exhibits on Sunday, Dec. 14, from noon to 4 p.m.

The first floor will house Hidden Treasures: Artifacts from the LMMM Collections, giving visitors the chance to see holiday decorations and rare artifacts on display.

From 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m., eight members of the Suzuki School and the Norwalk Youth Symphony will perform a repertoire of classical music.

At 1:15 p.m., Santa Claus will arrive at the music room to greet children for an hour.

The event will close with The Doll and Teddy Bear Victorian Tea session. Children are encouraged to bring their favorite stuffed toy or doll. Seating for the tea is limited. General Admission to the open house is $5. Tea tickets are $10.   

The mansion is at 295 West Ave.

This event is presented through collaboration between the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum, The Talent Education Suzuki School, the Matthew Surapine Studio, and North Pole’s Santa Claus.
