The story concerns a florist shop worker, the co-worker he pines for, and the man-eating plant that comes between them.

Howard Ashman (book and lyrics) and Alan Menken (music) based their 1982 work on Roger Corman's 1960 film, and was itself adapted into a 1986 film.

Elissa DeMaria, who plays Audrey in the production, is returning to Music Theatre of Connecticut after playing Natalie in "Next to Normal." Anthony DiCostanzo plays the role of Seymour.

The cast includes Broadway professionals, and performances are scheduled for Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 4 and 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m.

Tickets range from $25 to $50, with a $5 discount for seniors and students, should seats be available. Reservations in advance are suggested.

MTC MainStage is at 509 Westport Ave., behind the Jones New York and Nine West Outlet, in Norwalk.
