Learn Life-Saving Measures Calf Pasture Beach Concerts In Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. -- A 15-minute life-saving drill will be taught prior to the next four First County Bank Concerts at Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk.

 The concerts are held each Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. The show for Wednesday, July 20, features "Against All Odds," a Phil Collins Tribute band. Click here for the concert schedule.

 In the life-saving drill, people of all ages will be taught hands-only (compression) CPR and the use of external defibrillators (AED) by certified trainers. The free Hands for Life training is scheduled from 5:30-7:00 p.m. on Wednesdays, July 20 , July 27 (Elton John tribute), Aug. 3 (Rod Stewart tribute) and Aug. 10 (Chicago tribute).

There is a $10 parking fee without a Norwalk beach pass. The rain date for each concert is the following night. For cancellation information call 203-854-7938. 

“Hands-only CPR is effective, easy to do, and gives a cardiac arrest victim the best chance for survival,” says Anne Bartolone RN, Director of Cardiovascular Clinical Operations at Norwalk Hospital. 

The Wednesday night concerts are among diverse free entertainments organized by the Norwalk Recreation & Parks Department. Other events include Open Mic Nights on Tuesday in Freese Park, Summer Concerts in Mathews Park on Thursday and Tiki Lounge Cabaret Nights at Calf Pasture Beach on Friday.
