The will be presented by Creative Connections, a Norwalk-based nonprofit international cultural education organization.
The opening reception will be held on May 15, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the aquarium.
The free public exhibit features 120 selected art pieces created by students in Fairfield County and other schools across the United States and 22 countries through Creative Connections’ ArtLink program.
Creative Connections Executive Director Christina Rose, and found Alan Steckler, will attend along with Creative Connections board members as well as young artists and their families, teachers, educators. State Sen. Bob Duff (D- Norwalk), state Rep. Gail Lavielle (R-Norwalk, Wilton) and Brett Maddux, special assistant to U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy are also expected.
International program teachers to attend include Seiji Fukazawa, International Art Partner of the Year from Japan; Tunji Olu Akinloye from Nigeria, and Dr. D. Ambalampitiya from Sri Lanka. Representatives from Fairfield County Bank and Peralta Design in Shelton will be among the organizations in attendance.
The International Children’s Art Exhibit celebrates art created by students in Creative Connections’ ArtLink programs throughout the academic year.
The exhibit has support from the Department of Economic and Community Development and the Connecticut Office of the Arts.
