Man Fatally Struck By Teen Driver In Massapequa

A person was killed after being struck by a car driven by a teen driver on Long Island.

A 42-year-old man was struck and killed by a car while crossing the street on the night of Thursday, May 11, police said.

The incident happened around 11:05 p.m. Thursday, May 11 in Massapequa.

The victim was a 42-year-old man who was crossing from the north to the south side of Merrick Road (near Carman Mill Road) at approximately 11:05 p.m., Nassau County Police said.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released.

He was hit by a 19-year-old man traveling eastbound on Merrick Road in a 2015 BMW.

Authorities pronounced the victim dead at the scene after suffering severe head and body trauma.

The investigation remains ongoing.
