Jason Demarino, 40, was processed at village police headquarters and taken to the Bergen County Jail on drug-related charges after the North Broad Street arrest on Monday, Police Chief Jacqueline Luthcke said.

A judge the following day released him pending further court action.

Demarino spent nearly two weeks in the county lockup after Mahwah police arrested him on drug charges on Aug. 4. He's also facing charges from earlier this year out of Clifton.

He has a criminal history in Bergen County that stretches back to 2000, with arrests in Elmwood Park, Hackensack, Maywood, Paramus, Upper Saddle River and elsewhere on charges that include burglary, resisting arrest, probation violations and drug-related offenses.

Demarino has also been busted on drug-related charges in Rockland County, records show.

Two years ago, he and his mother were arrested in Paterson after police said they'd just bought heroin.
