  • Nine students at the Thurgood Marshall Middle School greeted John W. Marshall, the youngest son of the late U.S. Supreme Court associate justice, for whom the school was named. 

  • Republican congressional candidate Dan Debicella blamed his opponent, Democratic incumbent U.S. Rep. Jim Himes, for the failure of Derecktor Shipyards in Bridgeport, which went bankrupt in 2012. 

  • A Bridgeport man who, along with two friends, led Westport and Norwalk police in a chase along the Post Road, was arrested on multiple charges after he was fished out of the waters of Long Island Sound. 
  • The new Community Health Worker class at Housatonic Community College is proving to be very popular.It prepares students for a career in helping individuals, families, groups and communities develop access to a variety of resources that include health care and social service agencies, and others that provide health insurance, food, and housing.

  • A Bridgeport woman was arrested in Norwalk after breaking into a home and trying to trade stolen jewelry for gas, police said. 

  • A program in Bridgeport that provides financing for affordable housing in the city is receiving a $1 million grant from the state to support its work
