Howl at Horseman's Hollow

If Halloween is a scare quest for you, here's a pilgrimage you'll want to make: Horseman's Hollow at Philipsburg Manor in Sleepy Hollow, NY.  This new, haunted "experience" pushes the traditional Legend of Sleepy Hollow to an even darker place. Visit this 300 year old restored enclave with its manor, farm and gristmill and you'll feel as if you've stepped back in time to 1750. But to ramp it up for Halloween, vampires, witches, undead soldiers, ghouls, and ghosts, all minions of the Headless Horseman, take over. There is a haunted trail, littered with scary scenes and amplified by special effects. Behind every bush and lurking in the shadows are creatures (some human, some not) who'll do their best to keep you from leaving. Once you've run the gauntlet on the haunted trail, there's still the Horseman's Lair to get through. If you can survive it. Preview Horseman's Hollow on YouTube to see if younger scare lovers can tolerate this much fright. But for those brave enough, it's where to satisfy this year's Halloween terror jones. Horseman's Hollow takes place October 22, 24, 28-30, 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $20. For additional information, visit its website.
