Darien Church Hosts Talk By Active-Parenting Instructor

DARIEN, Conn. – Certified active-parenting instructor Diane Hobbs will lead a talk titled "Parenting Tools for Everyday Challenges" at First Congressional Church in Darien on Wednesday, Sept. 24, from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

The program will cover how parents can minimize conflict and enjoy unrestricted time with their children, according to a press release. Topics to be discussed include avoiding power struggles, helping children problem-solve and teaching responsibility.

Hobbs is a former second-grade teacher at Pear Tree Point School. A former journalist, she runs a series of parenting classes through her company, Parent Connections.

The program is presented by YWCA Parent Awareness, a parent-focused organization.
