Illegal Apartments Uncovered After Pomona Fire

POMONA, N. Y. -- An investigation into a Wednesday fire in a Pomona house is leading Rockland County building officials to believe the owner was operating a illegal apartments, according to lohud.com.

Firefighters from Hillcrest, along with New York City, Stony Point and West Haverstraw, worked together to extinguish a fire Wednesday in Pomona.

Though there were several people at the house when the fire broke out Wednesday afternoon, there were no injuries. But the house, which looked like it was being used for several apartments, sustained major damage, lohud.com said.
