Learning ways to maximize your retirement income is important to planning your future. The decisions you make now will have a tremendous impact on the total amount of benefits you can expect to receive.

The workshop will cover topics including:

  • Will Social Security be available when I am eligible to receive benefits?
  • How much can I expect?
  • When should I apply for Social Security benefits?
  • How can I maximize my benefits?

Participants will learn about the value of knowing when to delay or apply for benefits, the importance of reviewing your earnings record for accuracy, how to estimate benefits and how to coordinate benefits with your spouse to minimize taxes. In addition, the workshop will cover coordinating benefits with other sources of income.

The workshop facilitator will be Daniel Scalzi, managing director of Sterne Agee & Leach Inc. Scalzi is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of client portfolios. Most recently, he was president of a wealth advisory firm specializing in retirement planning. Before that, he founded and was CEO of a New York City-based registered investment adviser and institutional research firm, which provided asset management and equity research to institutions, pension plans and high-net-worth investors.
