Attorney, Journalist Tackles Social Justice At Norwalk Community College

NORWALK, Conn. -- Author, attorney and journalist Harold Michael Harvey will be the featured speaker for a Thursday program on social justice at Norwalk Community College.

Sponsored by the school's African Culture Club, the event is open to the public and free of charge. It is planned for 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday in the Pepsico Theater of the college, 188 Richards Ave.

Harvey is an award-winning journalist, former attorney, publisher and author of “The Paper Puzzle,” “Justice in the Round” and “Inspirations from the Steel Curtain.”

Harvey earned a degree in political science from Tuskegee Institute and a juris doctorate degree from Atlanta Law School. He has been honored for outstanding work in newspaper journalism by the National Newspaper Publishers Association. The Gate City Bar Association gave him the R.E. Thomas Civil Rights Award after he represented 180 college students arrested in the city of Atlanta during a black college spring break ritual known as “Freaknic” in 1996.
