RAC Pops Up with BIG ART
68 Wall Street, Norwalk, CT 06850
The Rowayton Arts Center, which has been the only center for the arts in Norwalk for more than 50 years, will “pop up” on Wall Street in Norwalk with a show of large, diverse artworks by 25 award-winning artists from throughout the region. “RAC Pops Up with BIG ART” is among a variety of arts activities being presented by Norwalk 2.0 at the POP CITY Gallery, 68 Wall Street.
Show hours are 6:00-9:00 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 3:00-6:00 p.m. on Sundays. Admission is free.
Hu Lindsay, the curator, says, “We’re pleased to have this opportunity for RAC exhibiting artists to display works that are too large to enter in our monthly Arts Center exhibitions. The show features wall art (drawing, kenetic sculpture, mixed media, painting, photography, woodcut) that must be more than 40 inches in width or height.
“I wanted this exhibit to showcase the diversity of high-quality of art created by RAC members. I think we have succeeded with 35 wonderful works in a wide variety of styles and also with a wide range of subject matter. I couldn’t be more gratified by the response from membership and know this show will be a success.”
The artists selected for “RAC on Wall Street” are Pamela Riley-Abear, Sandra Aldrich, Ilana Appleby, Donald Axleroad, Jim Chillington, Susan Frey, Sandy Gennrich, Dana Goodfellow, Ellen Gordon, Lisa Wilson Grant, Bruce Horan, Judith Orseck-Katz, Kendall Klingbeil, Tom Kretsch, Dana Laird, Lilly Langotsky, Susan Leggitt, Gillian Marshall, Wendy Moore, Elizabeth Nagle, Marilee O’Gorman, Phyllis Padro, Deborah Rauh, Robert Sachs and Richard Ventre.
