PELHAM, N.Y. Pelham resident Natoya Webster was one of several adults walking with colorfully-costumed children through the streets trick-or-treating Monday.
Webster went out with her three-year-old daughter, Natalee, and her friends five-old-daughter, Kionna Burrus-Ross. Webster said they decided to venture out despite the damage caused by the snow storm during the weekend.
We know Pelham, that they clean it up very nicely, Webster said.
Webster added that as she went toward New Rochelle for church, she saw that the roads were not as clear as they were in Pelham.
The Halloween festivities were an all-day event for the girls. Webster said they began trick-or-treating around noon and would not stop until they went to a party at a church in New Rochelle on Monday night.
Were going to be out for a long time, Webster said.
The trio trekked all throughout Pelham in search of candy. Natalee Webster, who dressed up as Snow White, said her favorite candy is M&Ms, while Burrus-Ross, dressed as a cheerleader, prefers Skittles.
Webster said they went out Sunday after the storm and realized the weather was not as severe as it could have been. Still, she said they hoped and prayed that Mother Nature would allow them to go out and gather candy.
I didnt want to be outside in that kind of weather, Webster said. If it was that crazy, we wouldnt be out here right now.
