Art Adventure Adds Movement

The sometimes formal art form of portraiture and the less inhibited one of dance collide and collaborate at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum's Family Art Workshop on Feb. 12, from 1-5 p.m. This yin and yang match up makes for an expressive hands-on workshop where budding artists will learn how they can add movement to their art work. Leading the demonstration are Boston artist Elizabeth Taylor and dancer Eve Agush. They'll coordinate a series of exercises to show participants how to express themselves in new ways, through art and dance, by experimenting with elaborate movements and emotions in portrait form.

Eve Agush has been teaching flamenco, tap dance, and yoga in the Boston community for the past eighteen years, specializing in instructing children. She joined the staff of The Boston Ballet as a flamenco teacher in 2001. She is also the artistic director of the rhythmic dance troupe, The AdamAnt Eve Dancers.Artist Elizabeth Taylor is an accomplished Boston artist who teaches workshops and facilitates drawing classes at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston . The Aldrich's workshop takes place from 1-5 p.m. and is free with Museum admission of $4-$7. Family Art Adventures, as with other Aldrich Museum offerings, is designed as a laboratory intended to help families explore by focusing on the process of looking at and analyzing contemporary art. Also on view now at the Aldrich are seven new exhibits , comprised of different media. For more infrormation, visit the Aldrich's website.
