A Better South Norwalk Hosts Community Day

NORWALK, Conn. -- A Better South Norwalk community members will be hosting the Fourth Annual South Norwalk Community Day on Saturday, Aug. 22 from 2 to 6 p.m. with a rain date on Aug. 29.

The event will take place at Ryan Park in South Norwalk. The event is aimed at bringing South Norwalk residents, business owners, community leaders, and community stakeholders together. The event this year will focus on community health and establishing and promoting youth interest in team sports.

There will be activities for the whole family and admission is free. The event will feature a basketball tournament, complimentary food, music, and the opportunity for residents to become acquainted with their neighbors and community leaders.

The Fourth Annual South Norwalk Community Day is cosponsored by General Growth Properties, Spinnaker Real Estate, and C-Town. The event Partners include Serving All Vessels Equally (SAVE) and the St. James Missionary Baptist Church. The A Better South Norwalk Team is thankful for these sponsors and partners for making this event possible.

A Better South Norwalk members include: Councilman Travis Simms, Sandra Stokes, Ernie Dumas, Councilwoman Faye Bowman, Nabil Valencia, and Martha Dumas. The team is dedicated to improving interactions between community stakeholders and community residents as well as increasing the number of positive opportunities for the youth of South Norwalk.
