Erin E. Herring was born and raised in Norwalk, and after completing high school at Norwalk High, she went on to get her bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences/Marketing at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT. Erin is currently the Assistant City Clerk for the City of Norwalk, formally City Clerk, and has worked for the city since 2011. During her tenure at City Hall, Erin has successfully completed a course in Emergency Management which took place in Texas last year, and is a member of the Emergency Management Team, as well as completing the Citizens Police Academy course. A former member of the Board of Education, all of these accomplishments have given her a keen perspective on the city of Norwalk and what it really takes to make it tick. Erin was appointed as the Veterans Liaison for the City of Norwalk, and continues to work with veterans and their families to provide accurate, helpful information about housing, employment, education and medical care, among other things. She is finishing up a project which entailed having an addendum produced for the Veterans Wall of Fame just outside City Hall to honor those who have given valiantly and selflessly, and will be starting a new venture with the American Legion Hall in the fall. Erin lives in Norwalk, CT with her husband and has 3 children, 2 of whom are students at UCONN and 1 at Norwalk High School.
