Bart, who has lived in Norwalk, turns 52 on Monday. The actor and singer was born Sept. 29, 1962, in Norwalk.

He made his Broadway debut in "Big River" as Tom Sawyer in 1987. He received the Drama Desk Award and a Tony Award as a role of Snoopy in the Broadway revival of "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown" in 1999.

He also originated the lead role of Dr. Frederick Frankenstein in the musical adaptation of Mel Brooks' "Young Frankenstein."

He became widely known to viewers with his portrayal of George Williams, the murderous pharmacist who is in love with Bree Van de Kamp on "Desperate Housewives," which earned him a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.

In 2008, he appeared in "Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay" and "Midnight Meat Train."

He also has appeared in "Hercules," "Spy School," "American Gangster," "Last Vegas," and "How to Build a Better Boy."
