Greenwich Republican Sen. L. Scott Frantz says he thinks GE will likely leave the state as does Ridgefield Republican Rep. John Frey, the Courant says. The new unitary tax combined with other unfavorable business excises makes Connecticut an unfavorable place to do business, GE has said.

Democrats counter, saying Fairfield offers other benefits such as quality-of-life issues, good schools and other amenities GE executives have come to enjoy, the article says. General Electric CEO Jeffrey Immelt also lives in New Canaan.
