The popular fair draws thousands to the downtown area. The 2017 event is on Earth Day Saturday, April 22. In keeping with the celebration, makers are asked to espouse the theme of earth in their ideas.
The faire now in its sixth year has become a catalyst for tinkerers, artisans, engineers, artists, woodworkers, builders, musicians, people who sew, comedians, jugglers and more.
It draws wide participation from schools, libraries, companies, and communities.
"This year will definitely be the best yet," said Alex Giannini, Manager of Experiential Learning at the Westport Library and a faire co-chair.
“Each year we are amazed by the growing impact Maker Faire Westport is having in our community. This year will definitely be the best yet."
“Every year, we see the best, most creative people in the area at Maker Faire Westport,” Mark Mathias, founder and co-chair said.
"We expect to see even more amazing makers and their creations.”
All ages are welcome to participate in the faire. It runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Westport Library on Jesup Green. Attendance is free.
Park in the Taylor lot or other downtown locations.
